En 2013, les Montréalais Alain Lefebvre (son) et Sonya Stefan (visuel) collaboraient ensemble sous l'alias Annuaire. Ce projet mensuel avait pour but de combiner leurs inspirations et questionnements artistiques afin de stimuler un travail varié et singulier. La vidéo du mois de décembre est une déconstruction du personnage Elmo. Utilisant des schémas aux couleurs vives, cette œuvre retrace les éléments formels hypnotiques utilisés dans la programmation télé pour les enfants.
BIO
Annuaire is a yearlong audiovisual collaboration between Alain Lefebvre (experimental musician) and Sonya Stefan (dancer, filmmaker). It is an audiovisual project that uses amplified objects, stereo field recordings and electronic devices to create an atmosphere both otherworldly and concrete. Music and video directly interact via remote signal to embrace short circuits, feedback and distortion. December’s video is a deconstruction of the character Elmo, embracing vivid colour schemes and shapes. This work traces the hypnotic formal elements used in children programming.
