DISTRIBUTION, Submitting a Work, Previews, Sales and Rentals
Works distributed by GIV are available for rental or purchase. They come from artists who retain full editorial and creative control and represent strong moments in collective, local, national and international history, and constitute a true source of information. The collection currently includes 1950 titles (video art, experimental, essay, documentary, animation, fiction, dance video, performance) in French and English, but also in several other languages.
GIV covers a wide distribution network at national and international levels, including festivals, galleries, museums and different institutions and groups of the education and community sectors. GIV maintains close relationships with curators and programmers.
Its participation in LGBTQ2S+, underground, women's, human rights or indigenous events allows artists to make their work known not only in the arts community, but also in activist circles.
As a non-profit organization, the GIV pays 50% of sales and rental revenues directly to artists in the form of royalties.

The GIV is interested in video works produced in an independent context, by artists of all ages, origins, and different backgrounds. The works must be produced, or co-directed, by women (in the most inclusive sense of the term).
The GIV distributes works produced in all languages as long as there is a version in French or English.
All genres, formats, durations and means of production are taken into consideration.

Submissions are considered by a selection committee and can be made at any time. Answers are communicated as soon as possible.

Preview, Sales and Rentals Conditions
To order a work, to receive a detailed quote or for more information on pricing and formats, please contact our distribution staff, making sure to mention the titles you are interested in.
Rental and sales rates are based on CARFAC and AAMI recommendations. Prices vary depending on the duration of the document and the type of license.The terms and conditions of use differ from one client to another: schools, universities, libraries, museums, galleries, community organizations, individuals.
