BIO : Shahrzad Arshadi

Shahrzad Arshadi, a Tiohtià:ke/Montreal based award- winning artist, feminist and social justice activist. In her artistic career Shahrzad has ventured into different fields of photography, documentary film, playwright and performance, enabling her focus on issues of memory, culture and social justice.
She has also co-produce and co-hosting Future Is Now a podcast project about art and social change since the spring of 2022.

Shahrzad Arshadi est une artiste multidisciplinaire et militante des droits humains arrivée au Canada en tant que réfugiée politique le 24 décembre 1983. Elle est membre active du Centre d’histoire oral et de récits numérisés à l'Université Concordia. 
Dans sa carrière artistique, Shahrzad s'est aventurée dans les domaines de la création littéraire, du film documentaire, la photographie, le son et la performance, portant une attention particulière aux questions de mémoire, de culture et de droits humains.
Elle a créé et interprété  It Is Only Sound That Remains , une pièce de théâtre sonore expérimental basée sur la vie de la photojournaliste iranienne Ziba Kazemi.
Shahrzad travaille actuellement à la réalisation de deux courts métrages documentaires,  Dengbêj  (chanson kurde) et  Shahrzad, une histoire simple.
