BIO : Marion Chuniaud-Lacau

Marion Chuniaud-Lacau  est une cinéaste et photographe franco-canadienne installée entre Montréal et Paris, dont la pratique, à la croisée du documentaire, de la recherche artistique et de l’exploration du corps en mouvement, place la danse au coeur de son regard.
Formée en communication internationale à l’UQAM puis en cinéma documentaire à l’INIS, elle réalise d’abord Voces Berracas (2019) puis Statu Quo (2020) et Origen (2025), un premier docu-danse inspiré du butô et du travail de la chorégraphe Yesenia Fuentes, primé au Female Filmmakers Film Festival Berlin. 
Ses films ont été présentés dans divers festivals internationaux (Dresden, Saguenay, FIFA, VIFF, Interfilm Berlin), et créent des espaces où le mouvement devient langage, révélant la pluralité esthétique et politique des corps et l’importance du processus collectif en temps réel.      

Marion is a French-Canadian filmmaker and photographer based between Montreal and Paris. Her practice, at the intersection of documentary, artistic research, and the exploration of the moving body, places dance at the core of her vision.
Trained in international communication at UQAM and in documentary filmmaking at INIS, she first directed Voces Berracas (2019), followed by Statu Quo (2020) and Origen (2025), a short docu-dance film inspired by butoh and the work of choreographer Yesenia Fuentes, awarded at the Female Filmmakers Film Festival Berlin.
Her films have been presented at various international festivals (Dresden, Saguenay, FIFA, VIFF, Interfilm Berlin) and create spaces where movement becomes language, revealing the aesthetic and political plurality of bodies and the importance of real-time collective process.
