BIO : Mara Montoya

Mara Montoya (États-Unis/Mexique), née en 1984 à Harlingen, Texas, est une artiste vidéo basée à Zurich. Elle a étudié à l'Université de Zurich en arts et cinéma ainsi qu’à l'Université Saint-Lukas de Bruxelles. Elle a obtenu son diplôme en arts médiatiques en 2008.
Mara s'intéresse à la géopolitique, au post-colonialisme et aux migrations.       

Mara Montoya is a Zurich-based artist originally born in the U.S.
She studied Film at Saint-Lukas Brussels University and Media Arts at Zurich University of the Arts, in 2008 she graduated in Fine Arts. Since Fall of 2011 Mara has been working as a Research Associate in the Interaction Design Program at Zurich University of the Arts. In parallel to her research work and personal development as an artist, Mara is pursuing a degree in Law and Economics at the University of St. Gallen.
Mara’s work predominantly seeks to explore and reflect on the tension between social classes embodied by the ownership and control of land.
