BIO : Elmira Laki
Elmira Laki, artiste interdisciplinaire d'Iran basée à Montréal, explore divers thèmes par le film, la vidéo, la performance et le dessin. Actuellement en MFA Intermedia à l'Université Concordia, elle a créé Yesterday, premier volet de sa trilogie Hier, Aujourd'hui, Demain, reflétant sa vie en Iran, incluant les récentes émeutes.
Parallèlement, elle mène Aujourd'hui, un projet à long terme, et crée des œuvres autonomes comme Washed my hands of it, contrastant son passé iranien avec sa vie montréalaise, et Can You See Me?, vidéo issue d'une performance sur l'observation humaine dans les espaces publics.
Elmira Laki, an interdisciplinary artist originally from Iran and now based in Montreal, explores personal and cultural themes through various mediums, including film, video installation, performance, and drawing. Currently pursuing an MFA in Intermedia at Concordia University, Elmira created Yesterday the first film in her trilogy Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, reflecting on her life in Iran, including recent uprisings. Alongside this trilogy, Elmira has embarked on Today, a long-term project. She also produces standalone works like Washed my hands of it, contrasting her past in Iran with her present life in Montreal, and Can You See Me?, a video created from a performance exploring human observation in public spaces.
