Anita McGee is a published writer, a scriptwriter, film director and producer. In 1988, she graduated with a BA Honours Degree in Theatre from Toronto’s York University. McGee began her foray into filmmaking with two short films: Out On A Limb (1993) and The Trunk (1994). She also wrote and directed the award winning NFB documentary Seven Brides for Uncle Sam. Anita produced a half-hour drama for CBC entitled Clothesline Patch, that won a Gemini Award for Best Short Dramatic Program in 2002.
She also produced, wrote and directed two award-winning short animated comedies New Neighbours (1999) and Little Dickie (2002).
McGee directed Portrait of a 70 Foot Artist, a half-hour arts documentary for Bravo! and a feature film entitled The Bread Maker featuring Jonathan Torrens (Jono Vision), Sherry White and Rick Boland (The Divine Ryans). She is also developing two feature film scripts Faith Hope & Love and a romantic comedy entitled 12-Step Program.
Outside her own film projects, her film credits include Line Producer on the low-budget digital feature The Bingo Robbers, co-Producer/Line Producer on the low-budget feature Pasta King of the Caribbean and Unit Publicist for the feature films Extraordinary Visitor, Misery Harbour, and The Divine Ryans.
