Melina Young

Melina Young is an independent video artist based in Toronto. She has made works in documentary and fiction exploring subjects around women, lesbian and Asian diasporic history and identity.

In June 2001 she presented a programme of works by Canadian women, To the Island, in Eressos, Lesbos, Greece, posing questions about the social and political meaning of lesbian tourism and travel to Lesbos.

She is currently looking at themes of travel, migration, sense of belonging and interplay of marginality and privilege in her programming and video work.
