Venus Soberanes

Venus Soberanes is an experimental filmmaker, visual artist and photographer. Her film and video works have screened in a number of international festivals, including the 23rd International Festival of Films on Art (Montreal), the Festival de Cinéma des 3 Amériques (Quebec City), The World Film Festival (Montreal), and the Cologne KunstFilmBiennale (Germany).

Born in Mexico, Soberanes currently lives and works splitting her time between Mexico City and Vancouver, Canada. Her formal education includes a BFA, major in Film Production at Concordia University, a Fine Arts degree with a specialization in photography, and a variety of multimedia, video and film hand-processing courses.
