Cheryl Sim
Cheryl Sim was born in Hamilton, Ontario of Chinese and Filipino parentage. She came to Montreal after graduating from Ryerson with a degree in Radio and Television Arts in 1992. As an independent videomaker and editor, her work often deals with issues of ethnicity, images of women and grassroots community activism. She moonlights as a lounge singer. Cheryl Sim has been active in the Canadian arts scene as a videomaker, singer, composer and musician while working professionally behind the scenes at the National Film Board, Groupe Intervention Video and for numerous independent production companies over the past ten years. With a degree in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson Polytechnical, her videos have been shown across Canada and in the United States. She is currently in production on a solo CD of original music. She lives in Montreal, Québec. |
