Doris Chase

Video Pioneer.
For more than four decades, Chase has
mastered the diverse mediums of
large-scale sculpture, film and video.

She began her career as a painter in Seattle.
In the early 70's, Chase arrived in New York
and began working in video.

From the 1980's to the present,
she has incorporated themes of feminism,
ageing and the challenge of
family relationships in her work.
