Diyan Achjadi

Diyan Achjadi's prints and animations deploy a pop-cartoon aesthetic to examine the ways that militarism, violence, and natural disasters are depicted in popular media. She has exhibited across Canada and the US, most recently at Centre Mai (Montreal 2009), Oboro (Montreal, 2010), Centre A (Vancouver,2010), and the Mendel Gallery (Saskatoon, 2010).
Achjadi received a BFA from the Cooper Union (New York, NY, 1993) and an MFA from Concordia University (Montreal, QC, 2002).

Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, she currently lives in Vancouver and teaches print media in the Faculty of Visual Arts and Material Practice at Emily Carr University.
