Hitchhiking in Medicine Hat, Alberta, going back to the East. Hot end of July summer days and I've been trying to pick up a ride for the last couple hours. Cars go by, and I'm starting to find myself in this space where I 'vibe' every car going by:
- Fine, don't stop. I don't want to ride with you anyway... Plus, you are...
So, the sun is coming down hard, no shade, I'm getting tired, hot, uncomfortable, and feel pretty darn miserable. Then I notice this big bird of prey (hawk/eagle) just landing of top of a telephone post across the road. We stared at each other for a long time. And then it came to me as a 'flash'. That bird was on that post waiting for it's next lunch. It was waiting, and it 'knew' that its lunch will be provided when it's time. All it had to do is wait, and be ready. It also knew that if for some reason its 'lunch' wasn't to be there, then it was time to die.
All in all, both options were fine.
