Considered to be the most violent country on the globe, Colombia
has been ripped apart by an undeclared civil war since the 1950's.
The war is fought by drug traffickers, guerrilleros, paramilitary groups
and the army. Civil society is the chief victim. Residents of 'red zones'
are expropriated from their land and their possessions impounded.
Thousands of people make the journey each day to more
secure regions, especially large cities. This has brought about
serious social problems. In this collective drama,
women are most affected.
In MADE IN THE SAME BLOOD, interdisciplinary
artist Claudia Bernal presents three survivors.
These three women transform violence into poetry.
