Shot on location in Mexico City, Kahnawake, Amsterdam and Banff,
Whites Going In mimics the form of the essay film to test the hypothesis
that otherness may be reconceived as Whiteness, albeit prosthetically
enhanced, so as to problematize its status as an embodied construct that
moves through time and space.
With each location, the notion of privilege is apprehensively
entertained through the subjective lens of implanted points of insertion.
Whites Going In weaves a multi-layered dystopia held together
by an ongoing narrative of a foreign woman
who struggles to make sense of her own status in face of the other.
