Our drinking water: is it a public right, or a commercial product?
This video illustrates the ongoing battle to define the status of water,
while our government prepares to privatize the public water distribution
network. Against the backdrop of a system of laws powerless to stop the
potential redirection of rivers towards the United States,
our aquifers are being depleted by foreign companies uninterested in the
regenerative capacity of this resource, so valuable to our ecosystems.
Once again, societys less fortunate will suffer the consequences
of the commercialization of a vital resource that is essential
to the survival of our planet.
Indeed, the battle for the future of water is only part of a greater struggle to
prevent the world itself from becoming a commercial product
